Applicable laws and regulations
Understand the legal and regulatory framework relevant to each activity, location and business relationship. Requirements should be assessed in context and revisited as operations evolve.
At Akyol Fintech, we believe responsible financial technology starts with integrity. Our approach is guided by respect for applicable laws, regulatory requirements, ethical business practices and the responsibility to protect the confidence placed in financial services.
Banking and payments operate within a framework of laws, regulatory standards, supervisory expectations and contractual responsibilities. These frameworks help support financial stability, protect customers and promote confidence in the financial system.
Akyol Fintech is committed to identifying and respecting the legal and regulatory obligations applicable to its own activities and to the jurisdictions in which it operates. Where services involve banks, payment institutions, technology providers or other financial partners, we recognise the importance of understanding each party's role, responsibilities and relevant authorisations.
We believe adherence must be reflected in everyday decisions: how services are designed, how information is handled, how risks are considered, how partners are assessed and how concerns are addressed.
Our aim is to foster a culture where ethical conduct and regulatory awareness inform innovation from the outset — rather than being treated as an afterthought.
Our approach reflects the importance of lawful operations, sound governance and responsible conduct across the banking, payments and wider financial technology ecosystem.
Understand the legal and regulatory framework relevant to each activity, location and business relationship. Requirements should be assessed in context and revisited as operations evolve.
Take anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, sanctions and fraud risks seriously, applying appropriate controls and escalation processes wherever relevant to our activities and obligations.
Support clear communication, responsible treatment, appropriate handling of complaints and respect for customer rights within the scope of our role and applicable requirements.
Respect confidentiality and personal data, and consider information security, access controls, data minimisation and appropriate safeguards when handling information.
Encourage clear ownership of responsibilities, documented decisions, appropriate oversight and timely attention to material risks, issues and potential conflicts of interest.
Consider the wider impact of financial technology, including transparency, appropriate use of AI, potential bias and the need for meaningful human oversight where appropriate.
Financial regulation is not identical across countries or financial centres. The applicable rules depend on the nature of a service, the legal entities involved, the customers served, where the activity takes place and whether a regulated partner performs part of the service.
We recognise the importance of considering the requirements established by relevant national authorities, financial supervisors and applicable international standards when evaluating fintech services and partnerships.
This includes understanding the responsibilities of authorised financial institutions, payment service providers and technology businesses, without confusing one party's permissions or obligations with those of another.

Depending on the activity, relevant considerations may include internationally recognised financial crime standards, data protection rules, sanctions obligations and the laws of other jurisdictions in which a service or partnership operates.
Policies matter, but responsible conduct also depends on the choices people make. We aim to support a professional culture in which honesty, fairness and accountability guide decisions and business relationships.
Ethical conduct should remain important even when a situation is complex, commercially challenging or not directly addressed by a single written rule.
Communicate clearly, represent services and capabilities accurately, and avoid misleading claims about products, partnerships, authorisations or outcomes.
Identify and appropriately manage potential conflicts between personal, commercial and customer interests, in line with applicable obligations and internal policies.
Consider the capabilities, responsibilities, service boundaries and relevant risk factors of third parties involved in delivering or supporting financial services.
Encourage appropriate escalation of suspected misconduct, material control weaknesses, security issues or potential breaches to the responsible person or organisation.
Recognise that regulations, technology and risk profiles change. Review relevant practices and arrangements as business activities and legal requirements develop.
Akyol Fintech is a fintech business. The regulatory status and permitted activities of any particular entity must be assessed by reference to its own registrations, licences, permissions, actual activities and applicable law. Where a service is provided by a bank, licensed payment institution or other regulated partner, that partner's regulatory status does not automatically extend to Akyol Fintech.
This page describes our commitment and guiding approach. It is not a representation that every financial activity is authorised for Akyol Fintech, nor is it a guarantee of compliance with every law in every jurisdiction. Specific obligations should be confirmed against the relevant entity, service, jurisdiction and contractual arrangements.
